Mental Health and Addiction Treatment Hospital in Al-Azzazi is a specialized hospital established by the Ministry in a number of governorates to advance medical services.

Mental Health and Addiction Treatment Hospital in Al-Azzazi is one of the best psychiatric hospitals in the Republic. It is the first psychiatric and addiction hospital outside Cairo, and the second after Abbasiya Hospital.

Mental Health and Addiction Treatment Hospital in Al-Azzazi is the first hospital for addiction treatment other than various mental illnesses.
It was inaugurated by President El-Sisi in May as part of national projects at the level of the Republic in some governorates via video conference.
It is located specifically in the center of Abu Hammad, in the district of Kafr El-Azzazi and close to the cities of the Canal, as well as "Ismailia - Cairo", to facilitate its connection with the governorates.

Mental Health and Addiction Treatment Hospital in Al-Azzazi is a medical edifice in the field of mental health. The construction cost of the hospital reached about 40 million pounds, and its equipment was provided at a cost of 25 million pounds, bringing the total to 65 million pounds.

The hospital accommodates about 250 beds for mental health and addiction cases, and it consists of an outpatient building and another for the administration, wards for men, women, children and adolescents, an addiction treatment center and laboratories.
The hospital includes sports playgrounds, entertainment halls, a Roman theater (for providing artistic sessions and art therapy), training halls, a reading and knowledge library, which were prepared by the Knowledge Bank, as well as a mosque, cafeterias, a nursery for children, a kitchen, a dining hall, and a building for doctors’ housing.

The hospital was built in two phases from 2004 to 2008, with a financial allocation of 4 million pounds, and the second phase started in 2008, with a financial allocation of (35) million pounds, to which 2 and a half million pounds were added to complete all the works and hand over the building.
